Professional Background

Billy is an Associate practicing in the areas of insurance defence, commercial liability and corporate. He articled at SVR and was called to the Bar of Alberta in 2022. student with SVR. During his articling year, Billy had the opportunity to work with all our practice areas and gain hands-on experience on every aspect of a file. His role on client matters included reviewing and preparing files, conducting research, preparing file summaries and drafting documents including reports, pleadings and agreements.

Billy’s undergraduate degree in neuroscience and his scientific approach are invaluable when he is assessing each new file and planning out the best course of action. His education and previous work in a physiotherapy clinic also helps him quickly understand medical information on bodily injury claims. Running a student business franchise during summer breaks taught Billy how to work effectively with clients and the importance of making sure you are doing all you can to keep them satisfied. 

When not at the office, Billy enjoys continuing his passion for sports. He can be found in the hockey rink or outdoors on the golf course and ball diamond.
