We are deeply saddened to share the news that our founder, Lorne W. Scott K.C., passed away on May 24th, 2023. A fixture in the Calgary legal and business community for 55 years, Lorne was a partner, colleague, mentor and friend to countless lawyers since his call to the Alberta Bar in 1968. He was a gifted lawyer. Lorne practiced civil and criminal law at all levels of Court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He eventually established a prominent real estate practice advising developers throughout Alberta. Lorne’s contributions to the profession were recognized when he was appointed King’s counsel in 1986. Lorne joined our predecessor firm in 1989. He will be greatly missed.
