PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Since being called to the Bar, Lorne Scott has practiced law both in and out of the courtroom. As a barrister, he has practiced senior civil and criminal law at all levels of Court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Lorne has successfully argued many of Alberta’s celebrated criminal cases and as a civil barrister, he has also successfully litigated cases involving a wide range of issues.

Lorne’s litigation practice encompasses a broad mix of complex matters, including commercial and real estate matters, insolvency and debtor-creditor matters and tax litigation.

In addition to his role as a civil and criminal barrister, Lorne conducts an extensive real estate practice. He acts for a number of significant real estate developers throughout Alberta and has a personal interest in various real estate and golf course developments.

Lorne has completed an intensive program in mediation and facilitating settlement through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu, California.
