Katrina is a civil litigator, whose practice is principally in the commercial litigation and insurance fields with an emphasis on complicated commercial claims.  Katrina is Vice-Chairperson of Scott Venturo Rudakoff LLP’s commercial litigation practice group.

Katrina’s commercial practice is diverse in subject matter.  She has experience in oil and gas regulatory proceedings and litigation, complex construction and builders’ lien matters, estates litigation, fraud litigation, Securities Commission charges, Occupational Health and Safety charges, professional negligence, sports law, judicial review and large loss commercial insurance defence.

Katrina has appeared as counsel in the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench, the Court of Appeal and before the Alberta Securities Commission.

Prior to joining Scott Venturo Rudakoff LLP, Katrina was an associate at a boutique litigation firm.


  • Lead counsel concerning a dispute over a $100 million dollar estate
  • Trial counsel in defending the owner of The Bow in an $8 million dispute with its millwork contractors
  • Counsel defending a corporation  both with respect to the largest Occupational Health and Safety charges in Alberta and as well with respect to the ensuing $70 million civil litigation
  • Counsel defending an individual against a $46 million dollar fraud, the largest alleged fraud in Alberta
